Never saw those cars before, Very interesting though. Looks like it could be possibly late 60's?
Yup, pretty cheap gas, 28.9 must be high test, -can't read the print under that price.

The Chevelle was from Detroit. When you exited the Detroit/ Windsor Tunnel you turned right and went about 3 miles. Were known for their 24/7 high perfomance parts dept. I made many a run for parts that would take 3 weeks and cost 3 times as much in Canada. After the Chevelle they ran a Camero funny car. The dealership is still there but much differant. L.O.L.

Sorry...2 Chevelles. The first one was sponsered by 'Trader Ray's Jefferson Chevrolet' on Jefferson Ave. in Detroit.

v8 deuce Your absolutly right as what it is now. In the sixties it was much differant. The Detroit Playboy Club, The Roostertail Bar,Sinbads Rest.,Belle Isle and if you keep going about 7 miles it becomes Grosse Point where some of the pricest realestate in the U..S. exists. The Edsel Ford estate is out there.

i heard a couple of weeks ago that the city of Detroit is now officially bankrupt and has claimed bankruptcy. the city is now saying it is worried this may meen the need sell millions of dollars in artwork it owns.

EX-FRIGGEN-CUSE ME ????????

how can anyone or anyplace successfully claim bankruptcy (which obviously means millions of $$ owed) yet still be able to keep ownership of millions of $$ is artwork?

anywho ... back to our regularly scheduled program.

That just part of the big kerfluffle, true enough Detroit has declared bankruptcy. They don't have enough to cover wages for police and firefighters, and both agencies are busier now than ever. Short on man power, slower response times, sometimes by hours or next day for police. Seems like there has to be a death involved before it takes precedence. They had three abandoned houses on fire a few weeks ago, fire dept didn't show up. Just about lost the occupied homes next door because of it. Getting really rough and scary in some areas. Outlying municipalities like Harper Woods, Pontiac, etc. border up to Detroit, but aren't part of the bankruptcy...yet.  As far as the art work and pieces, Detroit proper doesn't own a lot of it, it was donated in trust to be displayed by them at the Detroit museum. There are 14 other cities across the States on the verge of bankruptcy as well. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Amen Chuck! Trader Ray's is now owned by a friend of mine. He married Ray's daughter. I'm going to have to ask him about that Chevelle - I don't remember it.
