Grumps excellent adventure !

Well.....decided at the last minute to go away for Christmas.

We have been to Phoenix before and did a road trip out through Arizona and enjoyed it sooooooo

Phoenix it is.

Booked AA out of Buffalo leaving at 5pm friday. When we got there fog was bad but flights were going out anyway.

Everyones but ours... they had a mechanical problem with the Crapper and held the plane 2 hours.......bad start

When we were landing in Chicago another plane pulled out onto the runway as we were landing and after a close call

We circled around and finaly landed.....of course we missed our connecting. They wouldnt give us a hotel for the night as they said it was weather!

The fight was on!! After standing Toe to Toe and fighting with a terrorist for 20 minutes...he called his supervisor and she finally gave us a hotel for the night....

but it was an hour away from the airport!

Grrrrrrrr...they tentatively booked us on US AIr but said we had to confirm in the morning. Thousands of people had missed their flights and the line up at the customer service booths were

miles long. This young person I was talking to told us they opened the tickets at 3am and sugessted we be there as early as possible to confirm our tickets......

well...its now midnight by the time we got our bags so we diecided to stay at the airport and deal with the ticket thing when they opened at 3am.

At 2:00 am I went and was first in line by the time they openned there was

hundreds of people behind me....got a flight out at 6:59.....only seats left....it was pandelierium behind me!!!! So now we are Back inside the airport and waiting...and waiting

Can sleep they make the seats from the finest BRICKS around! Finally got to phoenix and our car was now not available so had to book another car....

Finally out and got a room at the Radisson....very nice... slept a few hours then went to a HUGE mexican flea market (not in mexico) just ALL MEXICANS!

Went out for a good meal and crashed for the night.

Planning our road trip up throught Sedona for tomorrow....

I'll keep you posted.

Just make sure you're back by the 27th buddy. We'd hate to have to throw a brick through the window to get into the house to get the party started. But after seeing all the renovations you've done, I'm sure you'd fix that window in a flash!
Safe trip bud.

Here's a few more pics from Grumps. First picture explains exactly why he went to Arizona. It was to spend Christmas with his blood relatives !!

image.jpg

This next picture shows exactly what you shouldn't do in the middle of a freaking highway !!

image.jpg

This was the remains of the car that hit him at 70 MPH !! Grumps walked away and his hat didn't even come off !! I think he used the same glue that NASA uses for the re-entry tiles on the space shuttle.

image.jpg

Not sure what make this truck is, but I think it must be British. Dead give away are the missing teeth in the grille.

image.jpg

Everyone loves a Dodge !!

image.jpg

What you can't see is Grumps behind that poor VW van sodomizing it's exhaust pipe. No wonder his eyes are crossed !!nono

image.jpg

This must be a Chev !!

Did a 70 run on hiway 88 from Phoenix up to the dam

It is the most amazing drive i have ever been on in the entire

USA and Canada!

It is not for the faint of heart 1000 ft up

NO GAURD RAIL AND SINGLE LANE FOR MILES

Switch backs by the hundreds and NOT PAVED FOR 22 MILES

I SWEAR this is a BUCKET LIST ROAD!

Google it
