When I bought Dog Spit out in Saskatchewan, I trailered it back through the northern US crossing at Portal ND and Sarnia. Since I had a bill of sale and ownership from Canada, the US wasn't even interested in the car and again no problem on the Canadian side. I would never drive from Dorchester to western Canada over the lake head. MapQuest says 4200 Kms and 45 hours driving time. Go get it.
