That is sad to see. I suspect that cars were hurt in the making of this video.

All I can say is shucks, too bad the museum was doing me a favour and hiding those things. I never did understand the fascination with those cars.

I had a '74 I picked up in '78 ...smog motor no air , automatic ......was a lot of fun now that I think back . I installed the outside chrome pipes/headers ( hell of a job without a lift ) and kept it in good shape as a personal car ( ex wife didn't get to drive it ) The best part was that I sold it 5 years later for more than I originally paid ! I wouldn't have another unless it was a '57 or '63 and that won't happen .

I don't mind early 'Vettes - right up to the point where they stopped putting chrome bumpers on 'em. '58 to '60 being my favs.

Don't be surprised if the complete museum is torn down and relocated. Took this picture back in 09 when there, pretty close to ground zero!!

Looks like only one valuable piece in the hole...I hope that 68-72 stingray in race trim isn't in there...the rest looked like later model junk

Doesn't that picture look fake. Looks like Hot Wheels in a hole in the backyard.

Someone was very quick with a scale replica - A resourceful retired person, I'm guessing?

It is an actual picture. It's gone through some sort of editing to give it that look. Why? I don't know.

This looks legit to me. I think its just the dust and the scale of the sink hole. The surveillance videos show the likely culprit...notice the water rushing in after the collapse?

I had an instructor who was an engineer in Scotland who saw a building with a similar sinkhole beneath it from running water and sandy soil beneath the building - it all washes away and then boom.

I'm not a huge vette guy, but I do have some faves from the 63-72...glad to see they weren't many of those. I'm sure the 62 is restorable

What fell in;

1962 black Corvette
1984 PPG pace car for the Indy 500
1992 white 1 millionth-built Corvette
1993 ruby red 40th anniversary Corvette
1993 ZR1 Spyder on loan from General Motors, a design study that was never built.
2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette, a one-off tuner model.
2009 white 1.5 millionth-built Corvette.
2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil" on loan from General Motors, the show car for the re-introduction of the ZR1, last built in the early 1990s.

Geeze I thought I was the only one who felt the only use for Vetts was for parts.I do feel bad for anyone with money into these cars though as I can see a big "act of god" or "faulty construction"fight with the ins. compnay.Actually that might be an interesting battle,Ins. Co vs G.M.a lawyer field day.Don't know who or what I dislike most in this tale of woe,the Vetts,The lawyers,The Ins. Co.,G.M. Ed

If this is a ground water flow cause, then faulty construction design is likely key. I have heard that the area is known for its caves. Soil tests should have been performed prior to the build, but they may not call for that in that region.

I'm not a Vette fan, but I really can't think of any other car produced today that gives as much bang for the buck.

I'd opt for a Hemi SRT8 (Challenger or 300), Mercedes AMG, BMW M6, or even a 2014 Mustang Shelby GT500, would give plenty of bang for the buck.

anyone else notice the lack of any steel reinforcement in the floor? Not that it would have saved the floor but it might have given some time to get the cars off. Also the big red column doesn't seem to have much of a footing. Is this place in China lol.
