how one thing leads to another!

so after spending 6 hrs last Monday fixing my cab light issue I found myself sitting in the Magnetawan Home Centre parking lot at 5pm Tuesday with the chevy not wanting to start. So I took a holiday day and spent the morning waiting for CAA to show up and by noon the truck was back in the garage. So I thought I'd try to start it....sure enough the fuel pump decides to work and away it goes like nothing happened. So I start to trace the problem looking for poor grounds etc. Then after 1 hr I decided to replace the fuel pump that's inside the fuel tank that's under the bed. So now I have the shortbox sitting on the hoist 5' above the truck and this weekend I get to replace the pump. I also will replace the pump relay while I'm at it. It looks like the pump has never been removed judging by the rust on the tubes.

One thing leads to another so I might as well clean the frame and perhaps repair the rear cab mounts while I'm at it.

Dennis

if you have boots on you can just kick the tank , its not like you gotta pound on it , just the resonance or vibration from a good tap will get the motor going ..77.

And if you are changing the pump don't forget the filter. I just replaced a pump that was changed a year ago and they did not change the filter. The new pump worked its guts out trying to feed fuel through a dirty filter and then failed. We tore the filter apart and found out just how nasty it was. We tried the warranty route but of course that was futile due to the fact the shop never changed the filter.
