Fenders Returned after 50 years

Last summer a fellow in Michigan, who read the "T-Bird Deuce" story, called me saying he had removed the rear fenders during the rebuild for the second Michigan owner during the late 80's. He placed them up in the rafters of his shop where they had remained for over 25 years.  I was able to purchase them and this past weekend they were delivered to me at the Detroit Autorama.  They were put on the car in 1955 during the original build and the last time I saw them was in 1964 when I sold the car.  They will now become wall art in my shop along with the 25 years of dust.

Will... That is great. When I first saw your car in Sarnia around 1959 it was owned by a McGregor from Petrolia. It was green and those fenders were on it. It was one of the nicest finished hot rods I had ever seen on the street,especially in Ontario.It must be a little tempting to put those fenders back on and /or put the car back to its original look. Great car and great story.

 Returning the car to is original 50's look has been mentioned before and I sure do like that look.  However Bob, there are very few of us that would remember just how it did look.  Also, I have a ton of respect for all the previous owners and the changes they made as well as the care everyone took while they enjoyed the car.  I am now enjoying it again.

Well Mike, that has also been mentioned. Maybe at your next breakfast get together you can ask the guys because it was in Windsor when the 312 was swapped out. More wall art for the shop?

I know the 312 went into a 57 T Bird owned by a Windsor doctor but couldn't ever get the guy's name. I'm just yank'n your chain anyhow - I like the car just like it is!
