Vintage Torque Fest rad shell painted for their charity auction in May and the Mallory Mighty distressed sign is heading with me this weekend to Cleveland,Ohio for the Krazy Paint event
during the Summit Racing I-X Center’s Piston Powered Auto-Rama.. Hope to have a few more things done tonight ,I will post when they're suitable.
This is a little project I decided to do so my nephew Jay could be inspired to keep plugging away on his first old car project, named the shop in honour of his two boys Anthony and Austin...
Couple more this week, the dragonfly was a request from a friend who liked my stuff enough to ask for a simple yet elegant tattooed dragonfly, I hope it wasn't a dragonfly with tattoos she was hoping for?
And an ongoing panel that is a warmup for whatever is really going on . Multiple paint techniques, more to come.
Right out in left field here with this thing.. I was awaiting my family to partake in Mothers Day festivities and when they give me too much time in the garage alone I get fidgety.. Took a sheet of black painted aluminum, attacked with the grinder and a flap wheel then shot a quick wash of candy and clear, I need to do another but this time I will take my time and possibly do a hot rod or something to that effect.. Chris.

Drop oevr when you get that house deal taken care of, surely we still have some time left for a bonfire or two before snow flies...

That's real nice work Chris. I gotta remember you when I'm ready for paint. I'd like to do a faded/flat/distressed type of paint job with bright /crisp pinstriping on my roadster.

Whenever you're ready Nino... We have met at Pugsys last spring, should be there to pinch fingers again this spring... Donnie,no way man, full time would make it a job and nobody is supposed to enjoy their job!

Chris,,
on the picture of a green hood in the pic's thread at ELTA the hood was laid out with white lines.
Is that a white pencil or soapstone or ??.
Can you stripe right over it?
Thanks
TMJ
TMJ, I'm not sure which picture you're speaking of but I will say it would be a Stabilo Aquarellable water soluble pencil that will not effect the paint adhesion etc.. and wipes
off with a good old dose of spit! The grease pencils will not let paint adhere and often not dry , soapstone would leave a nasty carved mark on any surface that you tried to
draw on for reference... Staedtler also makes a pencil called Omni-Chrom (same thing, water soluble) just harder than heck to find in most cases..

Oh ,yup, that is Danno Drouins bird, Andrew Mairs "Gangrene" sectioned shoebox and yes some Stabilo pencil marks...grid laid out to ensure nice symmetry...
