What's that a '49 ? The "mosaic" paint doesn't grab me ...reminds me of my parents bathroom from the 50's .....and , well too bad it's not a 2 door but them's the breaks . ....seems to be in good condition though .

you mean the base metal will rust? What if it had a decent paint job to begin with?

It will eventually eat the paint, even if it's Epoxy. The copper will corrode and turn green and powdery.
For the most part, Silicone is an Acetic Acid.
Hmmm.. I've use silicone many times to adhere trim pieces and some emblems to paint many times and never noticed an issue. I'll look into this. Thanks for the heads up.
