I've put together a 1955 Nomad gasser  (street car) no big power (350hp.) 4 speed.

1. Should I put the tach on the dash or the column?

2. The car is faded orange and I will be putting vintage lettering on it. Looking for a kool name. Any suggestions?

tach should be in your line of sight, you dont want to be taking your eyes off the road while pounding it.  faded orange eh?  orange crush?  a-peel-ing?

To get a true perspective for a name, we need to see pics

On my 55, I couldnt bring myself to drill holes in the dash so it went on the column

I'm not sure about agent orange although it imply's toughness as in james bond my first thought was the gas that was used in the veitnam warcry

The tach should be on top of the dash or column if your going for that 60's look..I like the dash for better sight when shifting....out on the cowl is more 70's street machine look......just grab some mid to late 60's hot rod, Car Craft mags to see what the look was back then. I know, I built my 55 to late 60's spec's (modified production drag class look). Best of luck with the build....should be a cool ride.

The Tach thing is personal preference put it where you can see it and what works for you. As for the name post some photos perhaps that would help. I like Pulp Fiction because with what you are running for power and the illusion of a gasser it is only fiction. It would also keep them guessing why lol
