That's what I thought too, but if you look at the washers in 58Chev's post, you'll notice that the hole is right in the middle, and not offset. The only thing that would makes sense, is that the oval holes would be good for 4 1/2", 4 3/4", and 5" bolt circle. Washers with the hole in the middle would be for 4 3/4 BC, and washers that are offset would fit 4 1/2"BC and 5" BC.
Isn't it amazing how we get into these discussions over such simple things? LOL

those washers are meant for a rim with a recessed hole to center the rim perfectly since most of those rims are nut centric, not hub centric. those mag wheels dont have the reccesses for those washers so it wont really matter what type of washer you use.

I just took closer look at wheels and see they do not have the recess for washer.the ones I recall had the recess putting it one way would fit one bolt pattern then if you turned it would fit another.there was only a slight offset of the washer.I agree we do find odd stuff to talk about I enjoy it though.I am going from memory been probably 40 years since I saw last ones
