Anybody have any luck dyeing automotive carpiting. We want to go from brown to black(not yet Hemi). We are trying to match the carpet to the rest of the interior(not yet Hemi) and the back of the seats. What works and what to avoid . Any suggestions would be appriceated. O K now Dan. Ed
We have carpet paint. Comes in black, grey and beige. To be honest though, I haven't tried it yet. Mostly it's designed to cover tough salt stains so I don't know how it would work on large areas. If you are interested, I will get the name of it.
But better still, Floral paint is perfect. ( used in design of fresh flowers) Its permanent. dries super fast, seals and becomes quite water/stain resistant doesn't clump. Weird, I know but it works. I had to paint a faux fur coat with it .......don't ask.....and not now Dan.
If you need some, I can get ya some and ship it to ya no prob.
Thanks guys and Janice these are things to concider.I will pass this on to The Boy its his car so he can look up the availability and costs of your recomendations. Ed
Took you long enough. Other than the above any suggestions were also going to check carp-- ,make that flooring places tomorrow and see what they have to say.Again thanks everyone. Ed
I've never painted carpet, but if SEM makes it, it will work. I painted the seatbelts in my car with SEM rattle can dye, and it's been on there many years.
