me and sacotu had a thought today, there are 2 stroke bikes that are road legal, even some cars were 2 stroke. the rules for visible tail pipe emmisions are as follows, it cannot smoke for longer then 15 seconds. two stroke stuff does nothing but smoke, what would the moe do in this case?
The visible smoke, pertains to gasoline engines only, doesn't it? There's not many 2 stroke engines out there.
Does anyone manufacture them anymore. Last 2 stroke I had was my Yamaha Daytona 400 and that was in the early 80's.
seventies bikes, and cars as well, saab made a 2 stroke car. emission compliance concerning the visual rules applies to all vehicles regardless of age.
500cc, 2 stroke, that'd be a quick bike.
I just had to slowly twist the throttle on my 400, to get the front wheel off the ground, and it was easy to keep it up there.
that thing is one stupid extremely hot rodded bike that i built about 20 years ago. fires up with a warmed over 72 750 engine in it, same 750 supplied electrics, gauges and such. the body was a tracy one piece till the fiberglass tank ruptured and was replace with steel. all the controls are off the rear pegs, no front pegs. bill wirdge squared tubing swing arm. front end is off a kz1000 with same for brakes but with braided steel lines. wheels i laced a rear rim onto the front and went akront for the rear. the exhaust was custom made with denco stingers. and the numbers on the side are (-13) thinkin two negative make a positive. i'm thinkin i might put it back on the road this year, all it needs is a new battery.

Lotsa two stroke cars built over the years. Why not adapt the concept they used back then (small, light, kinda cool looking in a weird way) and make a Dwarf car street legal. Find yourself a larger displacement 2 stroke engine of your own choice and have at it. I've considered it a few times over the years.
