The gold Buick Regal (81-87) with the Grand National hood appears to be the twin turbo car DaveM posted about spinning 1000 rwhp on the dyno. Would love to know what times it ran. I wonder if there is a site where the times for these cars is posted? I've looked at the ONDRA site before and haven't had any luck finding times for their member cars (I also see this was a test and tune day too so maybe the times aren't available).

Good eye !! I think he mentioned 10.58 but spun the tires.
He drove it down there, got 9 passes in, drove it home. 10.55et , 130mph was it. Easy ish pass, low boost level. Trying to dial in the traction control curve as it is just spinning the drag radials. And the brakes won't hold the car on the line to build any boost for a decent launch, so a couple of runs he didn't get times for.
Teething/tuning pains.

Hmmmm, I wonder how that thing would run with something like a 3.08 gear in there.
Not thinking about the theoretical "well, with a 29 inch tire and a predicted rpm in 3rd at the finish line" type thing, but an actual run with a 3.08 gear. Sorry, I'm not suggesting anything really, just kinda wondering/thinking out loud. With 1000hp it may not really even matter but it wouldn't surprise me if the et's got a quite a bit better with less gear due to either less tire spin or tire spin that is (slightly?) easier to control.
The tire size is the limiting factor I'm guessing. Compromise with less of a gear and make it to the finish line quicker is what's bouncing around my head.
Do I have any experience with 1000 hp cars? Ahhh, NO , but I did win many a street race with a 3.23 gear against much more powerful cars that couldn't get traction.
He could also try some of the traction "goo" (can't remember it's name).

I was there but I didn't see the car run. The 130 mph indicates the car has the potential to turn a good et once it's dialed in. (not that 10.55 isn't pretty quick already)
