Don't know too much about this one only if it is at a zoo it might be just the thing for some members of this site. Don't know who is going but if you are going and you want compnay in your tour up to Peterborough we will see you Sunday morning. Just hope someone shows who actually knows where the zoo is. Ed
Well we went to the Zoo show today and it was awsome. We(The Boy and I) met up with Rick(Shag)and his interesting trucker buddy at the Timmies and we were off to Peterbourough. Shags car was awsome and it was fun to have a hemi car in my rearview for a short time. The trip up was fun to spend some time with my son. Like I said Shag was in the rearview for a short time ,then he let me see what that hemi could do as he went around me like I as stopped.I just looked at The boy and said wow.We got to the show and was directed where to park, and found that we had been directed to a different area than Shag so we were unfortunatly seperated.I did pass his car a few times during the day and there always seemed to be a group of admires around it . Spent the rest of the day wandering and checking out the amazing varity of cars and trucks on desplay.Kawartha Street Rods and there vollinters are to be commended for a great show.I got a real flashback at one point as I found myself in a circle of friends from my old club The Crussin Classics and some of the old Kawartha Street Rods guys.I mentioned to my son that it felt like 1980 again. Got home tonight to a nice meal with the rest of the family at my daughters house. What a great day with family and old and new friends. Ed
as mentioned above, and then some. thanks ed for showing me the way to peterborough. i probably would of ended up at the bowmanville zoo, lol. you have to let the boy drive the sedan and you follow it some day for a distance. it got a lot of looks and nods of approval from people as you went by. my pleasure to formally meet The Boy. sorry we got separated up there but i just went were they told me. as peterboro is my old home town i had a good day banging into some of the old crowd from the, down george st and up water st gang, of the 60's early 70's. man are they ever getting old, the ones that are left that is. lol.
the show itself is reminiscent of the show here in belleville at zwicks park. both in the trees and beside the water. both nice locations.
here is a bit of history for ya ed, when we turned east onto parkhill rd there is a row of houses on the left side for a bit sitting in along the trees. mom and dad lived in that section in the mid 70's. when i strolled passed you in that bit of a valley past the houses is the same spot i had a pretty good fender bender in my 69 g.t.o.-judge in the mid 70's while on my way to visit the folks. i thought about that after i got past you and laughed the rest of the way into town. i sold that car to harold carlaw in campbellford a short time later. dang, another one i'd like to have back today. anyway ed it was a good day and my pleasure running along with ya. can't remember the last time i drove along for any distance with a sedan delivery in my sights.
I was there too!!! Saw Ed's car but no where to be found??? I had the 64 Catalina 2+2 at this show. Tons of vehicles that I've never seen before. Gone to this show for 20yrs+ now. Fathers day is "Non existant" for me, but this show gets a great turn out every yr. on "Dad's day. Saw a NICE T-Bucket that "drove thru" the show & left. He did the same thing last yr. too!!?????Left at 2pm & had a nice drive back home Pete

guessing at this, there was a white catalina, 64-5-6-? a couple of cars away to the side of me for sale. i took a quick look and i thought the price was reasonable. just wondering if you happened to see it.
wish i could have went but that work thing always gets in the way. heres a pic from me following ed home saturday evening. his delivery sure gets the looks.
Unfortunatly most of the looks are of the WTF was that varity and for those that know the car its ,"I can't belive that thing is still on the road". I'm having a blast with it and by the way Steve nice louvers. Ed

Shag, yes I did get a "good" look at it. Actually I drove there in it!!!!!! Lots of interest & people taking pictures of the Catalina & asking for more info But thats it!! My long time friend [ back in high school] that was next to me in his 62 Grand Prix says I'm not asking enough for it & I'm "crazy" to even think about selling it!!!!
