Just trying to make something out of all the spare parts and aborted projects that are laying about. It may never see the road but at least it should plow snow! I still need a pas side rear fender if anyone has one.Should be lots of fun this winter.DSCN1336.JPG

One of my all time favorite body styles. You don't need fenders, call it an elevated "rat rod".biggrin

Looks like the beginnings of an exciting project! 'MonsteRat' will definitely be cool when done. biggrin

Mind if I ask what donated the chassis?

Its a 1978 Chev short wheel base 4x4 PU frame. I decided to mount the cab hi because I didn't want to cut the grill and fenders at the front. Set it up as a flip front end. I will post more pic as I progress.

Sounds like a great project.
Why rear fenders? Maybe a flat bed, if it's just to plow.

Hey 58-hows your project going? I still havnt used that turbo ,it may go into the 55 Ford or a 33 Chev PU. I have a complete box except for the one fender. The object is to make use of all the junk and parts I have around -rat truck! May still wind up with a flat bed though.

Steve- helped build that car with the owner. I did the body and paint. Took the car to Sparta for some shake down passes, front wheels came up a foot or so. Car never raced as it was purchased by drag car collector and put in his museum.

The neighbours are threatening to call the authorities-the ones with the white coats.I just spent a few days on the monster truck-its coming along fine. Got the cab bolted down, running boards on, flip front end working. Next is a tow boom.I cant stop-this is just too much fun! Heres some pics-

The 66 GMC 4x4 only goes in the garage with the small tires on and the garage door opener linkage pulled off. Then I still need someone to push the door up that extra couple inches.
The truck looks like it's coming along nicely.

I had to pull the opener and trim a section of the door foot to get my 57 in .  Garage  is on a downward slope so it needs to be backed in . To pull in forward I let about 1/2 the air out of the tires . For winter security I fill them back up once inside

My small garage has a 9foot door so it will fit in there but its not heated. My brothers 40 coupe is in there now so the truck stays out-more patina!

The good news-it moves under its own power, finally! The bad news-it only runs on 7 cylinders. I better do a compression test.
