I purchased this tach from an estate in New York recently and cannot find out any info regarding value, if it needs a monitor or when it was made. There is a part number on the face #827241 but checking catalogues back to 1965 has yielded nothing related to that number. It is a five wire tach and the 2 black wires go to the light, the green and red are usually neg. coil and switched power, but the grey has me stumped. #82669, 82607 & 82601 look very similar but are wired differently. Motion & SYC cars used a similar tach so if I can ID this and maybe test it, a value maybe guessed. Not knowing if it works gives it little value, but the tach and housing is really in good condition. I would like to sell this tach down the road so if anyone has any info regarding model #, wiring, possible sender or idea of value, it would be appreciated.
After hours of research, this may be the answer or not!!!!! 3rd picture shows adjustable dial which may be for ring gear teeth number. I read that too that it may not work with HEI but if I'm guessing right, I already have the distributor. I bought 3 tachs that nobody could get ID'ed or working and one was a Faria (Shelby) that is sold and the other is a Sun which is now working and will be put up for sale. This tach is a real puzzle to me, and it is either of no value or it is a rarity. Thanks to 58 Chev for some sites and I will post what it finally turns out to be. I think I miss Joe already as he would always have a comment on things.
