I went once years ago with a friend.. I had a reg cab dakota r/t with a 408 stroker. (still miss that truck). And my buddy had club cab seriously worked over turbo'd 408. They didn't seem to stoked that we were there but let us park off to the side. It was funny cause everyone was skipping by the mustangs and vette's they parked us beside to ask us about our trucks. It was just something different than the usual to look at I guess. But that was the only time I've been there.
What other fairly local meets/cruise nights are there to stop by in the durham-ish area?
It's a "GONNER" the owners of Haugen's [since they took over] have "pi$$ed" so many car owners off over the past 8 or 9 yrs. that nobody would go there anymore. It's a shame ,as the previous owners had worked so hard to build it into one of the best cruises in Ont. New guys, had to many rules & regulations, wouldn't let the people use the washooms unless they bought dinner,[ only 1 out house & line ups were long] no flyers to be given out, no for sale signs ++++ After the decline they asked for help to get it back & group they approched said that "STEVE" had to stay inside as he "IS" the problem, but they said "oh no, he stays & runs it, so they walked away. They now have a "farmers mrkt." on Wed. nights in the p/lot & will likely "PI$$" them off too!!!!! Thev'e been told many times what the problems are & were, but wouldn't listen, so it's Gone "TITS" up!!! Pete

Port Perry cruise on Tues. night. Uxbridge on Thurs nights. Uxbridge has finally got the road paved into Elgin Park & had close to 300 vehicle last Thurs. & will likely grow in #'s as the word gets out. They used to get 3oo to 350 at the old location, but had to move from the arena, too many complaints that "little Johnny" has to walk a few steps to the frt. door & Mom didn't like that idea!!!

These people were a distant relation so moving out here and finding a restaurant with my name (and spelled the same) was cool,we had lunch and asked to talk to the owners, finding out the haugens no longer owned it and hearing on here and other places that it's went a little down hill is a little sad.Just goes to show that it is the owners who make a place good and it is hard to keep that up for new owners.
