Nice fleet, wonder what the taxes are there, to be able to support such a fleet.

And I thought Vegas was extravagant, with their highway trooper fleet.

There are no income taxes in Dubai or sales taxes, no real property taxes either

Wow. Can't outrun those guys...

When I lived in south Fl, the highway patrol had some saleen mustang chase cars.

From my travels:
South Carolina had/has some BMW M5s (Donated by BMW apparently)
Vancouver Police have some stealth WRX STIs (apparently something to do with street racers)

And, I want to say kentucky or Tennesee highway patrol had some impala SS on the interstates. I remember seeing those
in the 90s, but can't remember which.

What have you all seen out there as far as interesting cop cars go?

Oh one more, My personal favourite. RCMP up around northern Alberta... Its only on the drag strip though.

I own a 9C1 cop car. It's quick. For 4000+ lbs it works well. It's quicker than my Marauder.
It ran a 14.9 ET on an unknown mileage LT1 but on the highway pulls like no tomorrow. Back in the day I see why it was the choice for police cars. The 9C1 and P71 well very well built cop cars that took abuse and kept going.

I have only seen Camaro SLP cars on state highways.

They must be using conficated drug money or some other back door dealings or payoffs to be sporting such a fleet with not much tax $ coming in.

All that aside, the guy says: " we don't use these car for chasing criminals, quite the opposite. It's to show to the people here that we're not bad guys. Most people are afraid of police, but they see us in these cars and talk to us" or some such nonsence. What a load of BS! I'd be chasing every speeder I could find.....probably let them off with a warning, but hey, you gotta love the thrill of the chase, not putt around some fancy malls and high priced boutiques!!!!no

Things have sure changed over the years with police cars.
I remember back when they bought only the smallest V8 available, and a two barrel, and they really didn;t have any chance of catching anyone during a chase. They had no pursuit training then either, poor radio reception, and only one flashing red light up on the roof.

I used to listen to the RCMP up in Grande Prairie Alberta. from 97-2006.. Some times they'd get in a chase on dirt roads with some hillbilly or whatnot, and they'd be reporting their speed. The chase almost always ended when they got to 100mph on a dirt road.

Some of those cowboys could really drive. They'd steal a car in town and roll back into the deep country or whatever.
