Not much to show pics of , just been detailing parts, ran all new vacuum lines

Dad did the upholstery on the dash ,so he could start putting it all together

Also started to put sound deadener on the floors

went over all the suspension ,checked that everything was torqued properly and installed a couple cotter pins I missed earlier

Dad's also been double checking all the wiring 

Not too much to take pics of Bob, still doing lots of small items
Rebuilt the fuel/vacuum pump, cleaned up the tranny cooler and ran new lines to it.
Testing and cleaning window motors.
Got new water control (heater) valves and swapped them out to be safe.
Had the custom quarter window frames chromed and new side glass cut for the whole car, so the tint would match.
The car doesn't look much different in pics but lots of small items got crossed off the list
Have to cut and polish the car before we put any trim on it but want to wait until the car is closer to being finished .
Once we get the side glass back in ,we'll bolt all the convertible top components in.

I may have a piece of 7/8 hose. Heater Hose correct? Not a molded piece? Our Dad loved auction sales and we bought a bunch of hose of a garage wall. All new never used.

I haven't been able to help Dad too much the last couple of weeks but we're making progress with getting the doors back together

we ned to get all the glass set so we can install the convertible top frame.

The quarter windows we had to custom make and have the frames chromed, then had to get glass cut for them.

Well the tint wasn't going to math the other glass ,so all new side glass was cut and fitted.

This helped slow things up a bit

Bench tested the window motors and 5 of the 6 were good, tested under load and found another needed rebuild.

Finally got the glass in

 Went out to the garage and fired up the compressor tonight, the dust has now been removed lol

And we decided to tear the spare master cylinder and tredel-vac apart

the one on the car works but Dad decided to rebuilt the extra one and we'll rebuild it and swap them out

We've had trouble making progress, keep finding more things that need to be welded

 She likes the splatter

Got the rechromed grille installed, but will probably pull it back out and paint inside all the little squares, as they're supposed to be painted silver in the middle

The original carpets for this car were a special ordered fur, but we went with the "standard" Wilton wool carpets

and here's a picture of us trying to sort out all the carpet pieces

 Thanks Jean, I enjoy spending time with my Dad building cars, it makes each car special to me .

In the last month or so, we pulled the hood and trunk lid off and had the hinges rebuilt , should have just rebuilt them from the beginning ,new rims and tires are on and the the water pump was leaking ,we found it had a small crack in the casting and had to source a rebuilt one.
Can't wait to finally see some seats in it

My Dad was out in my shop with us last weekend working on my wagon.  Three Generations in the shop that day!  It is a great feeling.  We probably only talked for about 30minutes out of the 4 or 5hrs he was here but I know my Dad went home happy.   It's a guy thing!

Haven't updated this for a long time because things have been moving slowly, my Dad has had some serious health issues but we're back at it now.Here's a sneak peak at the interior

Thanks Sniper, you and the owner have got your work cut out for ya, Dad and I have built quite a few cars and this thing is a challenge. Partly because of the convertible conversion. We have a parts car so if you need anything I might be able to help.

 That's good to know, I'll pass that on to the owner. This gentleman/customer has two, both in black, the one he's dismantled and the second one that is still altogether. When you get into one of these, we found a few oddities as you likely have. The two piece headlight area of the fender, I'm guessing the shape of the fender with the aggressive bends and compound curves were to much to stamp out in one piece. Routing of the exhaust down through the inner wheel well, into the front corner of the frame and along the frame rail and rocker panel.  Weight of the front fenders must equal 2 or 3 Smart cars. These things were built like a tank. It will be interesting alright. I'll be watching the rest of your build and gleaning it for info, kind of nice to see what's there before hand. Thanks, take care.
