Annual inspection blitz is on! Set up in the Mohawk Race Track parking lot Guelph Line and 401. Every arm of law enforcement is there. They pull vehicles of all types along the 401 and surrounding areas. This is not just a few crusiers pulling people over there are probably 50-100 marked and unmarked units roaming the area. The Marine unit is even there helping out! Usually lasts for several days.
Passing through tomorrow (wed) on way to Cape Cod. I think I am good to go, but hate the time wasting on the side lines.
If you have a trailer on and passing through on the 401 ...Risk level high... We run 2 pickup trucks with 24' deckover trailers. all brand new equipment. Last year cost almost $1000. Our trucks will not be coming home tonight and will be parked in Miss. for the next few days. They pull vehicles off the hwy and surrounding areas and make you follow them to the Mohawk Race Track parking lot for full inspection. Even checking for Indian Smokes and smoking in commercial vehicles.
Money grab again, thought they had forgotten about smoking in Commercial vehicle after the Hub Bub it caused down near London last yr, but never heard the outcome of court case regarding the driver being charged for that???? They were in Port Perry 2 weeks ago checking for illegal smokes & MOE was checking for Emissions on older vehicles "AGAIN" Seems this is a favourite spot for the MOE & the MTO etc.for safety inspections & HASSLES

Thanks for the heads up Kirk. Bought a pick up in Georgetown last night and trailered it home. Stayed well away from the 401. No problems and no issues. Didn't see one police/mto or anything. They were probably busy somewhere else.
