Other than being an 010 Pete, I have no idea whether it was a 2 or 4 bolt, I didn't really care.
I have never had any luck running the numbers on it to find out if it was original to the '79 or '80 truck that I pulled it out of. My next door neighbor
at the time owned a motor rebuilding shop [Speedy Machine] in Newmarket, he rebuilt it for me. I am pulling it out of the '28
and replacing it with a non-emission motor, it is in being rebuilt at the same place. I am not about hi-performance and speed,
just simplicity and reliability, which I have had with all the motors he has done for me.
I would appreciate it if someone could run the numbers. Thanks in advance!
Without a clear picture of the pad, it would be near impossible to try and decipher.
Could not find anything, the Suffix Code from the front stamp pad should have two or three letters.
That will help determine what you have.
As for the date K07 068W I think is K070
Casting Date K070 = Nov, 07, 1980
Small block casting date is located on driver side rear of block on flange forward of bellhousing. Big block on the right side of engine above the oil pan rails.
Casting Date Example: E038 - (E = Month, 03 = Day, 8 = Last digit of model year (1978)).
Month: A = Jan, B = Feb, C = Mar, D = Apr, E = May, F = Jun, G = July, H = Aug, I = Sep, J = Oct, K = Nov, L = Dec

Unless it's a Canadian engine that has the casting date on the side of the block near the frost plugs. Attached is a pic of a 1957 283.
Thanks Frank! I will have another closer look at the pad tomorrow, wouldn't be the first time these old eyes have deceived me.
I appreciate the replies!
