28.5 L is the equivalent of 1740 cubic inches so that is only about 1 horse per 6 cu. in. Kind of in line with the times. This engine should be in a factory driving a generator or drive belts. Maybe the engine was in the Fiat plant and they decided to build a chassis around it. Considering the mass of the engine, this was probably like moving a well loaded large truck.
Imagine that size engine with today's technology..... top fuel...... 18,000 hp
