Does anybody know where I could get a 168 Tooth flex plate that will work with an older 350sbc and a 700r4 Transmission. I could bring one in from the U S cheap but I would like to find one local. Also looking for a starter to go with it and offset mounting holes. Dam this conversion is getting expensive. lol
Try your local transmission repair shop!!! I got one for my 64 Catalina for about the same price as Summit a yr. ago or so!!! They should have a catalogue or computer listing for it & some have a double pattern for diff. t/converter Dia. Pete

Usually the 168 tooth ring gear is 14 inches across and for a Chevy small or big block depending on cubic inches. They are cheap and readily available. It takes the diagonal bolt pattern starter. The 153 tooth is 11 1/2 inches across approximately and takes the straight across pattern starter. They both usually have a dual torque converter bolt pattern. Any auto parts store can get them. I,ll add that the 400 small block and the 454 big block ring gears have weights on them as they are both externally balanced engines.
