Has anyone run into one of these? During my full re-wire, I pulled the ignition switch. It's got this thick conduit on the part that goes over to the coil.

The wire is a little frayed and I'd like to replace it.

I can't see an obvious way to remove the conduit to replace this wire. Doesn't pull off or unscrew as far as I can tell.

The little reading I did shows that this was an anti theft thing.

Considering the switch is original, I could get a new one, just in case, looks like the 1950 and up ones don't have this conduit, but I figured if I could just replace the wire, I'd at least save a little bit of $. ;)

Yea. That's a later model one, and the later model ones don't have the stupid conduit, and I think I am just going to 'upgrade' :)

I had similar switch/coil setup in my '38 but going to 12V system and not using that. I have also some extra 6V stuff, generators/starter/sealed beam headlights. Not sure if any of that is really usable. For free if you pick up...
