1816691 - Cast Code 

L 15 ?? - Date code Difficult to read last digit.

Offset valve cover bolt holes place it from 55, 56, 57, 58 to mid 1959. 

Pressed in rocker studs. 

1.72.intake 1.50 exhaust 60cc 

Great head if you are restoring a 283

I thought the offset R/C bolt pattern was only 55 to 57 & the 58's were straight when they went to side mtr. mount set up??? Not calling you on this, I could be wrong, won't be the first or last time that happens!!! They are definitely early heads as no mtg. holes on the ends for acc. to bolt on to.. Pete

'59 or mid '59 they went to straight across bolt holes
