Mustang II IFS- Who makes the best?

The new chassis for my 1940 Ford pickup is in need of a Must II IFS.

I've searched most of the manufacturers' websites and various forums.

So far, I've searched Heidt's, TCI, Streetrod Engineering, Chassis Engineering, Art Morrison, Progressive Automotive, Welder Series.

I need a hub to hub kit with coil overs. I will have it professionally welded.

I'd like to hear what others have used; the good, the bad, the ugly.

I've heard various stories about lousy instructions and installations that end up looking like gassers.

Let's hear it!

Thanks

I used Heidt's on my 41 chevy .The instructions were great, the cross member fit perfect and the supplied parts all fit . I would use them again

I used a complete Heidts Super ride on my 56 F-100 and it was very easy with good instructions, haven't driven yet but have heard good things!

NOT CHEAP but my experience has always been you get what you pay for. My 2 cents

Thanks for the input. Heidts seems to be the most popular. I've read somewhere there is some stress problems but I tend not to believe everything posted on the internet.

I used a Hortons cradle (from before Paul became Welder Series) with factory control arms and spindles. No complaints from me. They are local, Paul is a great guy to deal with and his own vehicle is a '40 Ford. I'd absolutely use them again.

I would go with the one from Paul at Welder Series.
Paul has been into these forever with his own '40 as a test piece.
He can give you the distance from the frame to the spindle center which is very important.
I've used two of them (from before Welder Series). One is in my '40 Ford pick up.
Paul is local and real helpful which is a plus
Just my opinion

I had a Horton in my 59 apache. Worked great and being local just a phone call or drive away with any questions.

Just finished putting a Heidts in a 46 chevy truck and i was pleased with everything but the chin shin ball joints.
Now i wouldn't be surprized if Moog and TRW are made in china these days, other than that everything fit well
Ditto the props for PAUL @ WELDERS SERIES . real stand up guy

He will be my first call on my next project

Just to wrap this up, I ordered a Heidts Super Ride II this morning.
The exchange rate hurts!

Anybody here ever use a Crown Vic front member, especially in a pickup? They are plentiful, beefy and inexpensive. They come with power rack and pinion, all aluminium construction and will virtually bolt into most any older pickup.
