1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback. Pulling it out of storage next month. Has a 340 with automatic transmission. 8 3/4 rear . Frame has been connected. Crager wheels , new gas tank , new aluminum radiator.Bucket seats column shift. Had a restoration done about 10 years ago and verylittle use since then . New project arrived so it's time to make more room . Best offer over $15 000.
There's only so much room in the garage for my dad's toys. Lol . Between my boat, sled , atv and kids toys ... there isn't much room for his stuff. And since he lives in the bush , his toys live at my place. Lol We've had it for over 10 years now and it's time to move on .
I didnt push the sale too much ... was mostly word of mouth and posting on Kijiji whenever I remembered to renew the ad.
We wont be taking the car. It is still in storage for another month. We need to take a truck to haul back any parts for the 66 GMC if we find any. Also looking for parts for a 41 Willys coupe :D
The car is now in the hands of R&R Classic Cars for them to sell on our behalf. With the strong American dollar and our reduced price , I have a feeling this car will end up in the USA.
Just goes to show you that not all buyers like to deal with "private" sales & will deal through a "dealer' pay a little more but feel 'comfortable' in the sale!! Just MOP & I did the same on purchasing the AVANTI

my self Pete I think it s cause for me anyway I never been good at ssale I m a good buyer ..............so may be it is better to let a real salesman to what they do best ,
The car got more exposure through the collector's showroom and website. In the end , my dad took a big hit on the sale and the buyer got a great deal .... but now we don't have to worry about finding storage for the winter and I get my garage back. Lol
Car will bring "only" what someone is willing to pay!!!! Friend of mine had his 62 T-Bird rag top "Fur sale" at $22,000 & Appraised at $35000, got 3 offers at $15000 ea.!!! Now realizes the cars appraisal is Too High for the market even though that # is for Insurance purposes only, he figured $22 G's was a fair price, still too high in a "tanked' mrkt.

I can offer some suggestions for selling your ride .....in no particular order :
1. Take GOOD pictures to post on line . Some people don't even put a pic in the ad . There is a guy down here with a very nice 64 Comet Convert for sale for 15K .....I think a decent price ....but I was scolding him yesterday for not putting a pic on Kijiji . He says he doesn't know how to get it out of Photo Bucket and into the ad . I asked if he had a 15 year old kid in the neighbourhood .....kid could do it ( because they don't know how to do anything else .)
Some pics are terrible so get someone else to help you out if you are a crappy photog .
2. Forget about appraised values ....they are normally B.S. anyhow . 3. Keep the vehicle squeaky clean inside and out and DON'T START TALKING ABOUT PRICE other than to mention it . Concentrate on VALUE , HIGHLIGHTS , GOOD THINGS .....you can mention issues ( A/C doesn't work etc ) but don't dwell on it . Don't Lie ! 4. If you haven't sold something before , write down all the things about your ride and memorize them so you can have an intelligent conversation . 5....now if it's a project , or junker sitting in the field , you have to adjust your spiel .
6. As to $$$ have agood look around for comparables .....Kijiji other regions , Craigslist , Carsonline , Hemmings .......to get a feel . The mention of the T-Bird is a good example , as many of the Birds have dropped way off in recent years except the tri-fives . Corvettes , except for certain models , are a dime a dozen but you see guys with plain-jane smog motor Vettes asking stupid money . It happens .
*** I sold cars , trucks and later trailers and RVs for 25 years and while I don't know everything , I did very well by selling the value , NOT the price .
