Looks like a 1964 date code, and they are 461's - 64cc chambers, no bolt holes.

Yes they are 461's. The casting number should be visible in the photos.

One is dated L 26 4, which is December 26th 1964.

The other is dated just over a week later, A 4 5, which is January 4th 1965.

They would have originally been installed on a 1965 model year car with a 327 of 250 or 300hp. I think they both came from the same engine back when the General built it.

I think 461's of this vintage have 62.076cc combustion chambers. In 1967 they went to 63.305cc's.

Can you fill me in on the "no bolt holes"? I'm don't know what you mean.

If you CC the chambers on 461's, they generally come out around 64-65cc's. If you cc the later 64cc heads, they generally come out to around 66-68cc's.

Those numbers you put up are probably the blueprint numbers, but they never came that way from the factory - production tolerances were pretty generous.  They are decent old heads, and I prefer to start with the small valve versions, because you can go to the 2.02/1.60 valves and cut the seats on virgin metal.

Put a set of those head on a 350 one time, with .030 over 10:1 pistons, wow what a screamer, the motor end up in a 73 Vega that was scary to drive, which was traded for a all pro modified stock car, it was fun to be young.
