If you were looking to buy a 4 post car hoist what make and model would be the best to buy, want to be able to store a full size truck underneath and would be nice to be able to change tires on it and also which one would have the widest ramps to drive up on as if ever a narrowed rear car with wide tires to be able to fit on the ramps. Like to hear your thoughts and best makes and models, thanks. Do they need to be bolted down to the floor, can they be moved if needed.

I've got one called the Backyard Buddy, works great, got the extended version ,with a rolling jack platform and a wheel kit.
You don't bolt it down and it moves easily
I think it has a 7000 lb capacity.
I've had my extended cap long box F250 on it and lift cars that weigh over 5000 lbs with no issues

I am with Wolfman, I have had my BackYard Buddy for almost 10 years it has never failed me and is extremely safe. Solid four post design with a 7000lb lift capacity. At the time one of the few lifts still made entirely in the USA.

Just curious as to where you can buy them in Ontario, any idea on what yours was when you bought it, thanks for the information, really appreciate it.

The question of lifts has come up here many times. Everybody has their own favourite. Several friends and I have each purchased a Pro 8000 from Direct Lift. The oldest being about 8 years. None of us have experienced any problems and highly recommend them to anyone who asks. They are located in East Toronto and the lift can be picked up at their location. It took 4 of us about fivers to assemble. Heavy but easy.

I am assuming you are looking for a drive-on lift that lifts really high for the truck to fit underneath? I think the only really tall one I have seen is the Direct lift Pro Park 9 - Which is 7 foot clearance.
