Our 2000 VW Bug was finally costing too much to fix. I was tired of the same old find another grey/silver newish car Bull****. So searched Usedvictoria.com and found this: http://imgur.com/a/8g6JU
Been driving it to work for the last month or so; 50+ miles per day round trip. So far getting about 20-21mpg combined highway and city. Had it into a shop today to check the stuff I cant see well without a lift. Everything checked out excellently. Needs some paint obviously, but has little rust currently. Couple of other things to do over time.
Very happy with the decision to add some spice into my daily life.
PS. I intend to come back to the September Armdrop race whether the 53 Studebaker is still there or not. Hope to see you folks there!

With a little work you can pull down low 30's mpg with a good running slant six in a small car like that. I had a 73' Scamp that had a best of 31mpg, and would average around 27-28mpg without a problem on the highway.
Mine had a 2.25" exhaust with a super turbo muffler, super six setup, and distributor recurve. The rest was dead stock and had 400,000 plus miles on it.
