I am looking for something cheap, old, and that drives.

I'm not super picky, but I'd prefer something from 30's up to mid-late 50's.  And it 'cant' be a truck cuz in order to not be skinned alive by my wife, it has to fit my family of 4.  Fewer doors the better, but beggers cant be choosers..and I know the 2 doors go for more...so im totally willing to go with the extra set of doors...

I know that you all have a tendency to collect 'em with hopes to finish them...or part them out or whatever...so that's why im askin.

I'm just tired of dreaming and drollin..and wanna start doin and drivin'!!

Thx for readin!

Chance

There's a ton of stuff on kijiji right now. Might help you to narrow down what vehicle you want then search high and low for the right one.

Don't take this the wrong way but have you heard of the business/reality triangle? Cheap, quality, fast. Pick any two at the expense of the third because you can't have all three.

I agree with you on the number of doors. However many years ago we went to the Street Rod Nationals in Australia where it seemed that most older cars are in fact 4 doors (or more).

There were some beautiful cars, well thought out and put together. Most had more that 2 doors. So there are probably some overlooked cars just based on that body style. It can be done and nicely done as well. Think "unique".

Good luck with your search.

Im not really picky for the make or model...cuz I love 'em all!! I'm not stuck on one make or another...
I check Kijiji regularly...but as a newbie I don't really know what I'm gonna get into...so that's why I 'm asking on here...cuz I trust the ppl on this forum.

I almost had a 4 dr '56 Olds 88 for $1500 (it was his grandfathers, barn stored)...but the guy sold it on me before I could make it down to his place. Still quite bitter about it to tell you the truth....

I have heard of the triangle...and that's why I said old, cheap and drives; expecting something that's not a show stopper, or that will break any speed records.......

I'm looking for something that doesn't need a ton of work, maybe some new rubbers, a carb clean, small stuff....not like an engine rebuild, or replacing floors etc....as I don't have any experience when it comes to stuff like that....

IF anyone spots something like this on Kijiji please forward the link, or post it on the Kijiji finds link on here, as I check on here regularly too.

as for the price....I'm hoping to not spend more that 3-5g's... cuz even at that Im facing the dog house...but its better to ask for forgiveness than permission..

thx ya'll.

Well I don't really have anything set for a budget, I just want something that can run and drive, with minimal work involved...but I can still spend a bit here and there, and wrench on it part time when the kids are napping etc..
