How do you distinguish a regular rotation GM V8 water pump from a GM reverse rotation pump? Is it in the casting number?

The pulleys won't bolt up onto each other as the bolt centre is different. Not sure if there is any other way.

Short of disassembling it to see which way the impeller blades point is there a way to differentiate one from the other?

So do Fords brussel sprout......... only 5 bolts to take off, or take through customs and ask for a print out of the X-ray.

Thank you Petebil, I still have a bit of a problem here with this. The water pump that I have in question has no pulley, just the bare pump................

try going to rockauto and see if you can match one up in the application pictures.. they have some excellent pics..I sort of thought that all serp driven were reverse and crank belt driven were clockwise..but I am not positive on that..
