I subscribe to the online version of Jay Leno's Garage and was notified a couple of weeks ago about them adding a weekly one hour tv show . I've seen the first 2 episodes ....I think they have settled on Wednesdays at 10 pm . ( first one was on a Sunday for some reason ) . I like it although topics are quite varied . The last episode had California low riders , a 100 year old motorcycle club , Japanese "tuner cars " , a trip to the Petersen Museum to look in the "vault " at rarely seen old movie cars ....etc. There isn't any drama involved like Counting Cars but Jay does offer some funny quips now and then .
I thought it was a decent show ...maybe you give it a try !
I saw the second episode and i agree it's going to be a good show. They show a wide range of vehicles, no silly drama, and hey - it's Jay! A true car guy who knows his stuff, puts his money where his mouth is and makes you laugh to boot. Looking forward to more.
Yes, awesome show. No fake drama. No 24 hr builds. Just fun fun fun.
I have been to Jay Lenos Garage, and met Jay on the Tonight Show and the Peterson Museum. I was a guest of George Barris and this is how I gained access to off limits Vault.
If you are ever in LA, the museum is incredible. The museum rotates its cars all the time but the Vault also carries some private collectors cars that are never on display.
In the first show he mets with Tim Allen, I have been to that garage as well but not inside like Jays garage. I have met him as well. Another true gear head. Both really nice classy guys.
Thought you would like these photos.

Here is some from Tim Allen's Garage. Its his own movie production studio upstairs, and the garage is main floor. Its a very big building. But only 1. Jay has 11 Buildings. 1 main shop and 10 garages all ajoined.
I tried to get the show on CNBC, but a different program was always on. I thought maybe the show was not available here in Canada with CRTC's insane rules. I have Shaw Direct. What time and what channel are you Guys getting this program on?
I had same issue. I called Rogers my provider and they said it was CNBCs issue. So I contacted them and they corrected the problem. Hopefully it should air now. They repeat the show throughout the week as well. I have a Rogers Digital so for me its on 79 and 184 HD. I am not sure what Shaw would have it on. As TeeJay said its Wednesdays 10pm. I have seen it repeated on Fri and Sundays.
Don't know how many of you saw last night's show ....a little unnerving . It was about cars of the future , focusing on electric vehicles . This won't happen over night , thank God , but the thought of electrics in the future is depressing from this old enthusiasts eyes ...and ears . We are going to have to take our old V-8's to the grave if we want to hear that sweet rumble ! Or maybe we could install an exterior sound system on the electric .......dial in rumble .
I thought last nights show was great. Innovative high school and university kids building things. The Tucker. WOW. Combustible engines will not got by the way side anytime soon. I think your fossil fuel burning V8s are just fine. Its just the way of the future to innovate new ways of transportation by going green. The electric car was done over 100 years ago. It is only now with the Volt, Tesla etc that it is gaining momentum IMO. There is too much money to be made in oil/gasoline to ever do away in our lifetimes for fuel.
The government will soon tax fuel so heavily that only the Jay-Leno's of the car world will have the v-8s to drive..we will have them for memories..Next time we get fuel shortage bullchit and they start jacking fuel prices will eliminate more working class hobbyists and the value of our cars will just keep depreciating, We would be in a deeper hole right now if it weren't for fracking giving us the surplus ..Between insurance and the price of fuel,l I would think in as little as 15 years out this will be a different hobby due to fking Ont green government Liberal kunts.. I do like Jay I watched last night looks to be an interesting show and Jay is an interesting character in his own right..Good guy for the hobby..
