been looking to get a front end for my project. looking at pete and jakes complete front end hub to hub. thing is.....seems crazy to pay what I would have to to get one with the dollar and shipping and brokerage etc. any ideas? or dealers up here that can save me a buck or two?..lol
Try Horton's in Milton. They treated me fair, unfortunately the dollar is in the toilet right now.

I deal there a lot already. just feeling around to see if anyone might have a connection somehow to a better deal. definatly like dealing there though if I have to pay I will just sucks to put out a lot more money just cause the dollar is s#@&.
No tariff. I think the 35% was US list plus 35% exchange on the US dollar equalling the price in Canadian dollars on which they calculate the 13% HST which you pay if you haven't been in the US for 48 hours. No rule changes here, but it sure does get expensive these days.
how do ya get a 35% exchange rate on a 75 ish cent dollar ?
- that's 25%
not like you're paying pay pal a percentage to proform the transaction and do the conversion - I know they charge at least a couple of points for that (pay pal)
also there should be no duty if the item is made in north america - canada america or mexico

Checked the price of a gallon of Fluid Film from Acklands Grainger. $159.00 Canadian + tax.
Ended up buying off eBay, delivered from the States it cost me $105 Canadian, all in.
1 Canadian Dollar equals 0.75 US Dollar today.
Fluid Film Gallon - USA Price: $49.50 & FREE Shipping http://www.amazon.com/Fluid-Film-nas1-Gallon/dp/B004NDDCKK
Sub total = $49.50 divided .75 Exchange Rate = $66 Canadian + 13% HST Tax = $74.58 times 1.035 (visa Exchange) = $77.19 CDN + $6.90 CDN ($5.00 USD Port Huron Warehouse Parcel pickup)
Total = $84.09 Cdn on a $49.50 US$ purchase / or 1.7x factor
AG = $159 + 13% = $179 Cdn minus $84 (MI) = $95 Savings/Gallon, buying at less than 1/2 the Converted price
I'm South of London, so Sarnia/MI boarder is only 1.25 hours away / and gas in Port Huron, was $2.23/gallon (a month ago).
- still ways to save $$, on large purchases or several smaller items / but usually requires a drive State side, and avoid higher shipping options to Canada & expensive brokerage fees, all adds up

I just received an $1800 US order from Speedway Motors and had it shipped free to a Niagara Falls N.Y. address. A cross border company cleared it through customs and brought it to Mississauga for pick up. It cost me $104 for them to clear customs and ship it to their depot. They also collected the sales tax and paid it at the border. There were 8 good size boxes of parts in the order.

This is interesting. I just found out that TSC sells a gallon of Fluid Film for $90 Canadian. Wow, Acklands Grainger (in this particular instance) is a TOTAL RIPOFF.
$90 Canadian (at TSC), plus tax, plus travel charges (gas), ordering from the States was still worth it (just barely though) I guess. I can say this, Acklands Grainger is defiinitely NOT a store I'll be rushing to shop at if gouging is a habit of theirs
