I have a 2014 F250 diesel crew cab short box. I am towing a large 5th wheel with a hitch weight of about 2000 lbs. When I hook up, my bumper drops about 4". I would like to install a set of load leveling shocks to prevent the drop and as well stop the up and down oscillation on bumpy roads. Does anyone have any recommendations from personal experience? Also I think a sway bar would stabilize the side motion in high cross winds. Am I right on these two points or are there better ways?
sway bar is actually an anti roll bar ment to help prevent the truck from tilting side to side when turning
if you're thinking sway bars that prevent side to side sway , those would be the trailer sway bars on the trailer that use the little trailer hitch balls you see on each side of a bigger trailer hitch ball
good ball joints and tie rods & good suspension bushings would have more effect
5th. wheel trailer!!! won't have provision for what your saying DJD!!! Has the 5th. wheel got a tilt feature or just frt. to back??? Assuming the F250 has leaf springs, so would agree & air bag it with aux. kit

I put Firestone bags on my 06 Dodge 2500 with Cummins power. Measure bumper to ground on each side, hook up, pump up air bags til bumper is at same height as before. Worked very well.

Went to see the guys at Cannifton Garage as suggested by Lightspeed Mike. I was quoted about $900 installed on the Firestone air bags, in line with other places I had checked out. They drive F250s there and convinced me that the Timbren system was the way to go at about $300 and install a Hellwig adjustable sway bar as well at about $600. I did all this and am now hoping that the 5th wheel towing improves. Thanks everyone for your input.
