Why you'd run a 10 and not a 12 bolt in the first place sorta don't make sense.
I switched the Supernash to a 9 inch ford and back then, guys thought I was nuts.
My reasoning was that I can pop the axles, pull the drag carrier and huck the road carrier in.
My Uncle and me, were the first to drop a SBC in a Vega and do the 9" thing in mine. (In our town anyway) There were no kits and stuff back then, we had to make stuff for the Vega.
I used the Vega for my Drivers Licence thing when I was 16, I'm not kidding. The dude clearly had that 'Oh ****' look on his face when I fired it up in the MTO Lot, to take him for a ride.
Before the flood of questions happen. It wasn't an easy task for either back then.

A well known street racer from back-in-the-day (Toronto area) bought an early style Vega Kamback (sp?) wagon (71-72-73) brand new, brought it home and started swapping in a SBC. Don't know that he had a 9" though. For some reason I'm thinking shortened Dana 60. Here's a pic of it at the track in 1978.
That 10 bolt could also be a 7.5 as well.
