There is no cost for this pool......there is no prize either, its just for fun and bragging rights I have the driver values for this year
You must pick 8 drivers spending no more than $10,000
Teams must be received by Sunday Feb 21....before the race starts.
The team you pick will be yours for the whole season, no trades once season starts
We will be scoring by the NASCAR online points. PM me with your picks
Any questions...just ask.
Just a pointer....Make sure that the drivers you pick will be running for the Sprint Series points. Some racers run just some of the Sprint races, but dont get points for them.
PM Sent. Thanks for doing this again. Have you figured out a better way to record the stats at chase time?
I found on the Jayski site that they showed how the points would add up if they didnt go by the chase points....I am not sure if they do this week by week, it was after the season was over that I saw this. I know the way they do the chase is stupid (Busch should not have even been in the running with his points), but it does make it interesting for the pool....you can win or lose right up to the last week......Without the chase points, we would likely know who is going to win all along. Maybe we should have a poll as to how to run it, as long as I can get the non chase points
I should mention that I had picked Stewart but realized a few hours later that Tony WON'T be starting the season due to a back injury while riding a dune buggy .........just a heads up to all of you and your picks .
I'm not a betting man , but I would bet against Smoke doing much of anything ....serious back injuries are a whole new ball game . The success of the team rides on , cough , cough ...The Danica !!
For now, the list of potential Stewart fill-ins is purely speculative, but here are a few options for early in the season:
•Elliott Sadler: The former Cup driver and NASCAR veteran who is driving the No. 1 OneMain Financial Chevrolet for JR Motorsports in the XFINITY Series this year might be a candidate for Stewart's seat. The Chevrolet connection they share is critical and the two drivers are friendly. As of Thursday, there was no word whether SHR had contacted Sadler, who was unavailable for comment.
• Justin Allgaier: He's another JRM driver and former Cup competitor who is an option. Again, the Chevrolet connection is important and Allgaier is coming off two seasons in the Cup series driving for HScott Motorsports. That team is now fielding a car forClint Bowyer, who has been named to replace Stewart in the No. 14 Chevrolet in 2017 following the three-time champ's retirement this year.
• Ty Dillon: He is competing full-time in the XFINITY Series and already has a ride for theDaytona 500, but he and Stewart not only share the Chevrolet connection but also the Bass Pro Shops sponsorship between the two series.
• John Hunter Nemechek: A less likely possibility may be going with a young up-and-comer such as Nemechek. The 18-year-old son of Cup veteran Joe Nemechek scored his maiden NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in 2015 at Chicagoland in a partial season campaign. He is set to run a full Camping World Truck Series schedule this year, but might be considered a viable temporary option for the No. 14.
• Bobby Labonte: On the other end of the spectrum, there is Stewart's formerJoe Gibbs Racing teammate, the 2000 Cup champion. He has run a partial schedule in recent seasons and has competed in only seven races since 2014.
Until a substitute is named, the conjecture will be at full throttle. Stewart's team did not offer a timetable for how long the champion will be out of Sprint Cup competition, but it did state that Stewart, "is expected to make a full recovery and return to the No. 14 Chevrolet in 2016."
I could see Mark Martin doing it.
BTW....2 weeks till Daytona, get those teams ready
Well , I've read about the " Nascar Charter " and my only comment is " big deal , much ado about nothing " ....thought maybe they would be solving world hunger with all the hype about it .
Just a reminder for all, just another week till the Daytona 500....all teams must be in before the race starts.
Another hint for you. Make sure that all your drivers are full time drivers for their team. That way, they will get points each week. One source I use for this is the Jayski team chart......
ok here my numbers 1700 denny Hamlin
2100 kyle bush
1100matt kenseth
1800 brad kesel the bad one
850 kyle Larson
300 chase Elliott
1000 clint boyer
kasey kahne
I still don't understand the Kenseth move at the end ...he's leading , in the fastest lane and moves up the track to block the 11 . Even if it was successful , Truex would have won in the faster bottom lane ! A bonehead , rookie , move by a driver who should know better IMO .
Yeah , even Bristol is boring compared to about 10 years ago and older . I barely watch any more and haven't been to a Cup race in 15 years ....rather support my local track .
Have to agree with BORING!!! Nobody could pass just play follow the car in front, if you got out of line they were going backwards!!! waste of an afternoon other than the photo finish.

The NASCAR umbilical cord has f**ked everything. I was watching an episode of 'Walker...Texas Ranger' the other night and it was filmed at Texas Motor Speedway. After the race, the mechanic mentioned they need more horse power and Walker suggested they change the jets. Sounded like a line from 'Two Lane Blacktop'. It was funny but not as funny as the fact that when they ran carbs, they probably weren't allowed to change jets. Why have 2.5 miles of track when all 40 cars are in 250 feet of real estate. I think NASCAR is encryption for BORING. By the way, we haven't seen Moon Doll on here for well over a year and yet she leads the pack.
