I tried to buy 15x7  from my old tire shop   No listings anymore

I can get brand new 15x7 Caprice rims  77-89  but they came with wire wheel covers and no bumps to hold dog dish caps

15x8  never made in a steel rim  (original)

        and remember

15x7 are 7 " bead to bead  will measure 8 " edge to edge

15x8 measures (e.g. rally rim) 8 inches bead to bead and 9 inches edge to edge

found them!      here is Link for  Jegs

they have 15x7 and 15x8  listed      little pricy with exchange

I get stuff shipped to Port Huron  and pick up there  so I save shipping and no GST

They are very very very rare now  ....

HI ROCHIE : To my massive surprise , I scored a set of 15 x 7 steelies from a mid-eighties S-10 ( dead cheap ) -- Just plain steel , no slots , etc . They were on my car at the August BASH-- Hope this helps -- LATER - DON / Fleet 51

S10 had  15x7  steel rally rims and 15x7 aluminum

but I would bet a case of beverage, that they never used a 15x7 steelie that took dog dish hupcaps on any S10

I believe the 15x7 you scored are either 15x6 (measures 7 inch edge to edge) or they were added to the S10 sometime in its life....  just saying

You may be right Carl, but I did find these. Too bad they're 14"s

I had a set of four exactly like those, also 14". Came off a tandem camper trailer, no idea if 15" are available. Might pay to check it out a bit.

Make them yourself .... find the centers you want (take them from any width 15" GM wheel that meets your requirements) then weld them to any 8 wide "hoop" that works with the dia of the GM centers.

I'm doing just that with some early VW centers (I think they had 4 1/2" wide hoops) and welding them to 6" wide Audi hoops (for a VW dunebuggy). The VW centers fit perfectly inside the Audi stuff.

Reversing a wheel is old school stuff where they drilled out the rivets, flipped the hoop or rim, then reassembled the wheel. What I'm suggesting is similar, only you are finding a pair of 8" wide wheels and changing the center rather than flipping the original around.

If you're looking to go aftermarket, I remember reading that some aftermarket wheels don't accept factory hubcaps.  If you want dog dish caps, you end up having to buy new dog dishes from the wheel manufacturer.

Rochie

Somebody suggested these to me, maybe it was you. I bought a pair and installed Ford 6 bolt centers in them. they were cheap, it was easy and I got what I wanted when there were none to be had. www.speedwaymotors.com/15-Inch-Wheel-Shell-15-x-8,218.html

Yep guys,
I did all of that stuff for then 29 all 4 wheels BUT, I thought somebody might have 1 or 2 or 3. And Chips you are correct, the new smoothies will NOT accept dog dish caps. The problem lies in finding centres….most of them are still attached to the hoop they came with, therefore I still have to find 4 rims.

ROCHIE : Back to the S-10 wheels -- I personally removed them from the S-10 -- Which was a " Plain-Jane " 4 cyl , 4 speed , small cab ( cheapie ) , AND I had to remove the little ( stock )dog-dish caps -- AND they measure 7 inches AT THE BEAD !! -- Hope this helps -- LATER -- DON / Fleet 51

wow     never seen them     I have looked on the internet for years for them    If I could find a number I could order them

I was selling wheels and tires from back in early 60's

S10 specs call for a 15x7 with P205/75R-15's    but they never list or show a plain wheel    one that would take a dog dish hub cap

You found a very unusual situation

I think most of the base model C10 or gmc 15 used these wheels from the mid 70s to 80s  I think the s10 would be the same

Pretty sure that any 6 bolt rim from the Chevy/GMC 4x4 through the newer ones should work for you.

I have found the 15x7 wheels on caprices, some astro vans, and strangely enough - a 85 S10 I had. It had 15x7 rims and was a 2.8l V6, 4 speed, regular cab, shortbox, and had dog dish's on it from the factory. I got snow tires for it and they ended up being 15x7 rims.

I still have at least a pair of them in the shop. I also have a pair of 15x6's. They are all painted marina blue as I put them on the 67' Camaro I had for a while.
