66 olds signal switch

I got my 66 olds dynamic on the road, after a bit of driving my signal switch broke, if I can get the part that pivots off, I think I can fix it. Does anyone know if that comes off the switch assembly? As Its old and brittle and don't want to break it more than it is.

I think there is a tab, that pushes the copper contacts together that has broken off. If I put a pick in there and push them together, the signals work.

It appears that Dorman still sells the part that pivots, just on its own. That would suggest that it can be separated from the switch itself.  It looks like you need to remove the switch lever, then the screw (if there is one) from the pivot point.  If you do end up breaking the swivel part, the Dorman number is 49308.

Thanks, I figured it out yesterday, did some jb weld. Will see if it holds up for the time being. Good to know I can get replacement parts. We'll see what happens.

I order'd the dorman part. Was the wrong one. Same as the one in the pic, but a tad different than mine. Looks like shee-Mar makes the one I need. SM26 part number. I'll do some more calling around, hopefully have better luck.

That's strange, Dorman part number 49308 is supposed to fit 1964-66 Chevrolet. I can't imagine that part not fitting a 66 Olds. Hope the Shee-Mar part fits.

Yeah, it's very similar, but just different enough not to work. SM-26 looks identical though. As long as I can track it down.
