Well, My daughter has taken over my New Ram as she is just driving now....sigh.....so dad needed something to use as a daily

Found great deal on kijiji for this 66 F100 with a 352 good running engine and 4spd tranny...$1200 delivered to my door ...if you watch kijiji then you seen it13083227_10154105671745350_5010876397382072996_n.jpg

Plan is to pretty much restore it as cost efrfective as I can....may add a more modern 302 89 mustand driveline I can get cheap....

Anybody familiar with these trucks?......or adding a newer driveline swap?.....

the truck gets dropped off Saturday then I can have a better look at it......

Cheers!

Steve

Nice find ....if it was mine I'd keep the 352 and get it running perfectly . The old FE's were a dependable motor .....no disrespect to the 302 .

Thanks guys.....I would like to make this a really reliable truck, that is slightly more fuel efficient
I understand that it may have 4.11 gears....and the bull low 4 speed doesn't equate to good gas mileage lol

IF I keep the 352...is there a more modern/overdrive automatic that would bolt to the 352?.....and I would change the gearing in the rear end...not sure if it has a Dana or a ford rear yet...

I'm sure there are guys here that can answer that but you might want to join the Ford FE forum for more specific info on your new baby ....www.network54.com/Forum/74182 . I would go to a more friendly highway gear for starts before swapping transmissions .....a 3.55 would be nice for power as well as better mileage , and you could still tow f need be .

If it were mine I wouldn't change the rear. Change the trans to a overdrive

Not sure what the factor is of ford OD I would guess around 7 so 4.11 X7 is 2.80 or so. With tall tires on a truck that's a pretty good gear.

Just my opinion

Might want to look at the Ford truck enthusiast web site. It has a section for your truck.

Yep I joined!

Debating whether or not to do the Crown Vic front end swap...it has its pros and cons but solves allot of issues ...Disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, lowers the truck ....the track width is a bit wider overall though

Will see

Thanks !
