Loco,

I found the same thing, in Ontario it seems like everything is picked over and arts/crafts have filled the void.  Personally, I found that Carlisle PA is the place to go.  Prices are much better even with the dollar.  I needed a console for a 68 Charger, it was going to be $600.00 here.  I bought 3 in Carlisle for under $100.00 each.  Ok, I'll admit I sold the other 2 here and it covered my gas and hotel for the weekend.  Call me cheap!

It's a Canadian event . What else would you expect? Everything automotive sucks up here. The government doesn't want you to enjoy this hobby or attend racing events at world class level facilities. They want you at work 24 hrs a day so you can pay your taxes, the the little amount that's left over they want you to spend it on hydro and fuel.
If you want a quality automotive event, you need to go south of the border to Carlisle or Hershey.

I am not sure about now but I used to go to a pretty good swap meet in Randolph Ohio and the prices were pretty fair. A friend of mine got a 3 deuce setup complete for a small block Chevvy for just over a hundred bucks. There was a tuned port setup /350 Chevvy complete with wiring harness and computer and sensors for $75.00 which I thought was a pretty good price. A few socks and shorts booths but they were segregated from auto. Lots of auto booths though.

Been to 3 swap meets this year so far, Stirling, Smith Falls and Barrie. Haven't bought a thing for my car at any of them.
Missed Odessa today, it's usually a decent small flea market. Took the family to the Jays game instead.

I would think Lindsay as one of the best ones as mentioned above with over 600 vending sites and 90% automotive. I was also at Odessa last year and it was small but had a good day out.

Thanks for the tips.... Went to Lindsay and found it to be 100% better than Barrie,,, Has anyone been to Hershey in the last few years? I was there at least 25 years ago and found it outstanding,, wondering if it's worth the drive

Depends what type of parts you're looking for. Hershey is mainly for antique cars from the 20s and 30s, where Carlisle is everything else.

Yes I am a Hershey goer and it has changed like all automotive events but is still well worth the trip. The best part is it is all on asphalt now. If you do go make sure you take in the race car driving event on Friday at the stadium.

You can go to the smallest swap meet on the planet, where 99% of the vendors are selling socks and gloves. But if you find that piece you've been searching years for, its the best swap meet you've ever been to !!!

I now here that Smith Falls may have come to an end now. Will have to wait and see if they get someone to run it and hopefully they do.

All of the automotive swap meets are drying up. The parts availability is not like it was 30 years ago. With internet sales, why drag all of your stuff around for weeks, when you can place an add and have someone come to your house, give you money and take the part away. Other than the social side of swap meets and if you are building newer cars, it's difficult to find the old parts.

Went to Syracuse for the nationals. Swap meet there was small too. Lots of commercial vendors though.
Bought crap load of stuff for my 38 Chev. No customs, no duty, no brokerage, no shipping. Probably saved enough to pay for my entire weekend, less the beer I drank......

I also brought back a few things from Syracuse as well.  The size of the swap meet was disappointing.

Syracuse is not known for having a large swapmeet, its mainly a car show.

Well I hit Barrie fri morning ,within 3 venders there it is my 33 walkers 800 dollar american rad with fan and switches used good condition 170 bucks, BANG it was mine ! from that moment on it was a great time, never saw a thing for the next 5 hours. Been vending there for 20 years except the last 2 years since the change over. Hit Hershey for the 1st time 2 years ago for old ford stuff, at 54 i felt like an infant in heaven, the average age was 60 to 85 motorhome drivin up at 8 for breakfast pull the plastic off at 9 then sell and hobnob for the day, had the time of my life. Bare in mind the focus is on 1900 to 1950. great people, a must if youv'e never been. I always love Carlisle but there focus is 1950 up and everything. Its a must for muscle car stuff and to see what a good swap meet can be like. 6  1/2 hours to Kalamazoo its the size of Sterling with another large section of
