Parking in my garage --- need an idea .

Ok ,boys and girls ....up to now I have been parking my car frontwards in my double garage .  Since the hot and cold water taps are right in line with the front bumper I have to be careful not to bump them . In the past I hung a beach ball from the ceiling and stopped the car when the ball tapped the windshield . Easy !

BUT ,,,,,now I want to back the car in for reasons I won't go in to . The beach ball idea using the back window may not be the best , given the distance from the drivers seat to the back window ( full size Olds ) . I have considered fastening or gluing a piece of 1 x 2 to the floor as a " bump stop" at the appropriate spot but maybe yooz guyz have a simpler idea ?? Anyone , anyone ?

My Malibu I back in on left. I use two 2x4's on ground. As soon as I touch it I stop. The other toy I park on the right nose in. Same thing, wood. Neither is fastened. I am sure if you go quick enough it will move but in the years I been parking one hasn't moved. I go fairly slow. I also have a laser pointer but I found that harder to gauge. I drive the one on the right more than the one backed in. Also the one on the right I can walk around fully and the one on the left is jammed against the wall. Hope it helps.

Thanks , we don't have two cars anymore so I use the middle of the garage for ease of entry and exit . If I do the wood thing I could use 2 sided tape .....just don't want it to move because if I hit the taps , bad results !

you built that pretty truck of yours in four years , I'm sure you could move the taps in an afternoon - if ya really wanted to

all you need is the right drill bit some copper plumbing bits and some soldering skill

Wife drives in front ways, I back my truck in the other side.....I have a couple of 12x12 patio stones on the floor to nudge up against. They work well and dont move........Well, they do move when I'm working in there and trip over the bastards......lol

i bought two rubber wheel chocks from princess to keep from knocking over our bicycles. They don't move ahead when I nudge them, easy to store when not needed, and they can be used when jacking up your car for added safety. I use both on the driver side and hit them almost every time by lining my steering wheel up with the vice on the bench.
