Used to be a lot worse and I didn't go for many years .....seems to be improving , only 400 murders / yr instead of 650  biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin .....seriously , right downtown ( where Cobo Hall is ) is pretty good .

Will not miss it. First time was 1961. No problems in downtown area.

Wish I still had my Ed " Big Daddy " Roth weirdo shirt ....it wouldn't fit now , but ...., he painted it for me in about 63 or 64 ,at the show , and I think is was 5 bucks !

I usually stay in Windsor but in Detroit I stay at holiday inn Express.. Washington at Michigan or at Book Cadillac across street from Holiday inn. [ more expensive but very nice ]

I like the Book Cadillac and an easy walk to Cobo Hall. Lots of new development in the area and really safe. The Book has underground parking.
