Does anyone recognize these stars?

I had these chrome, pot metal 3D stars on my '37.... about 3".....

I found them on a toolbox at a scrap yard....They had one threaded stud in the center on the back.....

I would really like to find some more of them....

Does anyone have any clue what they might be off of?

Any help appreciated

Sold at Canadian Tire and other auto stores in 50's and early 60's as 'dress up items' See occasionally at swap meets but usually in rough condition as they are diecast and the chrome is usually quite pitted.

Funny when you see something and it brings a memory you have not thought about for many years.Back when I was 9 or 10 a neighbour had a 1953 Ford with a floor shift and glasspack mufflers.I remember those stars being mounted on the fender of that car, thought that was as cool as it gets.My dad hated that car,why would anyone cut up the floor to put as he called it a stick on the floor. He hated those mufflers, woke him up a few times. The stars were the crowning touch,he tood me the car had been mutilated and never to treat a perfectly good car in this manner.I always felt this was the beginning of a long and drawn out battle over my choice of cars and what he wanted me to drive. It ended in 1969 when I went out and bought a new Roadrunner,he wanted a young man of my age to get a 6 cylinder Ford product, save on gas, be practical. My dad gave me a great deal of good advice that I followed over the years but I am glad I followed my gut and bought the Roadrunner.

A buddy of mine has them on the skirts of his 53 Chev. J.C Whintey used to sell them too. I know my buddy and I know he may have more stashed away somewhere. I will see him on Sunday and I will ask. He has more 50's bling on his car than I have ever seen. I think he may have been like a crow in his youth.biggrinbiggrin

Just dug out a 62/63 Canadian Tire catalogue and they are listed at .54 cents each. All sorts of goodies such as fender skirts from $7.80 to cruzer skirts at $25.95 and lets not forget ' dingle balls ' at .29 a yard. Great stuff to look at again .

Wicked!.... much better than the $40+ US now.....

Called local HD dealer to see if I could get them....nope.

Id actually prefer old, "patina'd" ones...

If ya find some Bob, Ill give ya a shiny loonie for them ;)  that's a .46 profit  lol.
