Loosing storage and and probably won't get around to putting it back on the road. It has been sitting for several years now. periodically started. Last start last fall.
i know about scarp value and I know about what a willing buyer and a willing seller are willing to pay/take.
What I need to know is if there is a market for it? A realistic price and where or how to advertise it?
The GMT400 (88-98) trucks are a popular line of trucks. The main issues are usually rust in the cab corners, fenderwells etc. Truck looks pretty good body wise, box and cab lines line up good, which usually means the frame is solid.
If it has the v6 or a 305, I would ask $1500-2000 or so......with a 350, a bit more. The young guys seem to like the ones with a standard trans rather than an automatic.
Questions
Are you willing to certify and E test it?
Engine/trans....does it use oil etc? Any engine lights/codes?
Has it been undercoated or oiled through the years.
Other general questions.....brakes, suspension, tires etc?
V8 305 automatic, nope did not use oil and no warning lights. Don't think there would be any codes. Had been rust proofed from new and had been a western truck. Air, Windows, locks, stereo. very clean in and out with partial stainless exhaust. Cab corners were nice and still virgins. Wife wanted it gone and it sold quick. But for much less than you suggest.
Wish I had stood my ground and kept it. Should have sold the '97 I keep fixing with a rough body.
My first thought was the truck would have brought no less then 2500 .
However as soon as i first saw the pics i had thought between 3500-4500...as it seemed to be very clean which your above post has just confirmed..
Sorry for your loss...\Once sold a Hemi Car basicly at gun point!! To save grace due to police misconduct...
