We put dana 44's from a scout in our cj as well.
Had to put front diff on a milling table mill out the axle tube plug welds at pumpkin in order to set it in a jig lightly heat the pumpkin to turn the tubes (rotate the pumpkin ) For proper caster If you do not do this once the axle is under the CJ you cant expect it to stay on the road(due to massive bump steer)(with 33 inch rubber or 35 "s the steering wheel get RIPPED from your hands when it decides to violently go into what they call the death wobble)(Wait For it be ready ! Cause It will happen)
(Down right DANGEROUS).
