Hogtown Fall Meet
Permalink

OCTOBER 21-22, 2017

The Hogtown Metalshaping Meet will be held at my work place on the third weekend of October this year.

No experience necessary and is encouraged.

I will bring all my shaping equipment from home but we could always use more shaping stuff such as e-wheels, hammers, bags, stumps, etc.

E-wheels are extremely important and a few guys brought theirs last year. I appreciate the effort they took and it would be great if it could happen again.

I have manual shrinkers and stretchers and also the Baleigh power shrinker/stretcher to play with. We have enough TIG welders so we're OK there.

BBQ lunch will be served both days.
Doors open at 8:00 AM and run until everyone's burned out.

The meet will be held in the Markham Road/Finch Avenue area in Scarborough. (Toronto)

We have plenty of space for your projects, doors, hoods, fenders etc, so bring them along.

If you wish to attend please reply to this thread so I have an idea of how many are coming.

2721 Markham Rd. #25
Scarborough, ON M1X 1L5

Thanks,

I found the link.
I think this guy knows a bit about shaping and it would be good to be able to pick his brain.
Very nice results for a scratch built truck.

That would be great.

We could use guys that actually know what they are doing.

I get by, but I'm no expert.

Bump.

If anyone needs a patch panel made for their project, this would be a good time to get it done.
I have material in stock to use, no problems there.

May drop by with the kids.... We need a bit of enthusiasm / kick up the butt.
One of em is fabricator / welder at the guild... May try to get Alex to tag along, he is the guy that fabricated the front fenders on the Bugatti Aerolithe. Among a host of other cars!

To everyone else, we're open to any members that just want to drop by, have a bit of grub and do some bench racing.
No metal twisting required.
Just let me know a couple days beforehand.

Bump.

A few days to go.
If you need a patch for a fender, or whatever for your project, a good time to learn to make it from scratch.

Don't forget. No participation required. Come by for some lunch and shoot the breeze, see what we're doing.

Pretty good turn out for the new fall meet.

We'll be back next year around the same time.

Some pics below.

More pics:

Hood for some kind of Ford product. It's got a lot of tracking marks, but I'm sure the next one they make will be smoother.

Chris Stapely and Neil from Candy's showing off the new box sides we bent up.

IMG_3473.JPG

I didn't know who this guy was. Last time I seen him, he was fully bearded. Sorry bout that Nick.

IMG_3478.JPG

John fitting up to his buck. The piece is quite close.

IMG_3480.JPG

When they told me they wanted to bend up a floor, I pointed at the brake and told them to have at it. They moved pretty good for a couple guys that just had a crash course on the brake.
