Need a pair of mid 60s SBC heads for 283. Would like them in good shape and ready to go if possible. Thanks

Steve, I volunteer at a local army museum and one of our vehicles is an M114 Armoured Personal Carrier from the mid 1960’s, originally powered by a 283 SBC. We lost this engine to a spun main bearing and it was replaced with a newer 350. The block is a 283 from 1962-1963 but the heads are from a 305 from 1975-1976 (casting number 354434), so it appears the engine was rebuilt before we got it. The heads have 1.72”/1.50” valves, 60cc combustion chambers and hardened valve seats. The heads are in like-new condition as are the valves, and are very clean with just a bit of carbon where you’d expect. I can send you photos of the heads and more details if you PM me your e/mail.

We’re looking for $150 for the heads, and the rest of the engine is also available for another $100. The block will need line boring and the crank turned. The parts are located in Niagara Falls so PM me if you’re interested.
