I had a car painted last year in a urethane metallic and it has some orange peel. Just wondering if I can sand or buff it out and if so, how to go about it.Any help is appreciated -thanks Steve
Hey Steve. No u can not cut an polish metallic single stage ,only if its a straight color as when u sand metallic it will streak.. Or become tiger striped. Now if you were to wash the car with hot soap an water an use a fine scotch bright pad (grey) Very lightly. Then you would dry off blow ect..Tape said car off an clear coat it. At that point you could wet sand an polish out the clear removing all signs of orange peel.

I agree with Ground Pounder although I have not tried the prep technique for clear he has stated, I don't see why it wouldn't work. We used to call it "shifting the Metallic" as a reason not to watersand single stage metallic.

Thanks for your advice guys. I would have ruined my nice copper/metallic/pearl /paint job! I will try your advice this year ground pounder and let you know how it goes. May even take some pics. Thanks again!
