Looking for a 27 chev front axel disk conversion kit. Speedway seems to start at 28. It is a parell leaf type. I really don't know much about it except it looks like it will need hubs as well because it looks like the previous owner just drilled haphazed studs into the hub and they aren't really centered properly.
Do all Chevy parell leaf setups have the same width from spring to spring I wonder? Do I just need berring sizes to adapt later hubs to these spindles?
This is my first trip back past the 50s so its all new( or old ) to me. Would a newer axel say from a fifties truck be a better choice? Money is a concideration as this is not a main project just something to putter with. Ed
Thank you for the link. There are no brake parts on the axel only the hubs and wheels. I am still trying to figure out what I actually have . I will post some pictures when I get a chance. I usually stick with the 50s cars and trucks so this is out of my comfort zone. Wasn't planing a new project, just one of those things that I fell over was priced really right, looked kinda cool and even though I couldn't afford it I happened to have the cash at the time so you know how it goes. I will be seeking advise as this goes on from time to time but for now the the biggie is how do I tell the wife and still be allowed in the house. Ed
Yes that is what it looks like but the hubs on mine are drilled and badley welded so not really usable. Wow ask and ye shall receive how cool . I guess if it never came with brakes on the front I will have to change the axel to something else. Again thanks Slim this helps. Ed
